Our Story

Two photos of happy people posing with a green motorcycle at a motorsports shop.

  • It was the 2019 Calgary Motorcycle Show, Jake had bought a Grom the previous summer and was looking for a deal on a Mini Moto so him and Jenna could ride together. Somehow he bought extra tickets, so Jenna, not wanting to be stuck at a motorcycle show alone with Jake brought her sister, Courtney along for the adventure.

Five motorcycles parked by a road with a city skyline in the background.

  • At the show, they quickly found the deal they were after on a 2017 Kawasaki Z125 Pro. Then it happened, like lightning in bottle, they met a sales guy whose energy and excitement for mini bikes was unprecedented. He too loved Mini Moto’s and needed friends to ride with. Tim sold two bikes that day, one to Jenna and one to Courtney and they immediately starting planning rides for the spring. Little did they know, their lives would be changed forever!

  • Fast Forward to 2021 and the Mini Moto Mob was born, we began to organize rides and invite other riders out to join us. That summer we also held our very first Big Sky on Lil' Bikes Rally and the 1st Annual Lil’ Johnny’s Mini Moto Olympics. Both events have become staples for the Mob and have been really well received in the community.

  • 2022 marked another big year for the Mob. They got more organized and consistently put together what is now our Friday Night Mini Moto Ride. A 25 to 45 minute Friday Night ride followed by dinner at one of Calgary’s unique restaurants. The atmosphere of these rides is relaxed and friendly, we’ve met and made so many friends on these rides, making Friday the best day of the week if you ride a Mini Moto in Calgary! We again, held the Big Sky on Lil’ Bikes Rally and had twice as many bikes turn up than the previous year. One of our goals in 2022 was to expand our Mini Moto Olympics format with Lil’ Johnny and grow the event. It’s safe to say that we achieved what we set out for with more participants and even spectators’ attending then the previous year. We also were able to provide a plaque and prizes to the winners and participants.

  • 2023 proved to be the biggest year yet for the Mob!  Our Friday Night rides have more than doubled, with a steady flow of new and familiar faces coming out every Friday!  We also participated in several Motorcycle shows where we met tons of great people!  Once again we held our Lil' Bikes to Big Sky Rally and Mini Moto Olympics which were bigger and better than ever!

  • 2024 was another great year for the Mini Moto Mob.  The Friday Night Mini Moto Ride's Continued to grow. With that growth we had several key sponsors step up with prizes, man power and resources to continue putting on successful events for the Calgary Mini Moto community.  Cycle Works Calgary, Riders YYC and Calgary Harley-Davidson all provided support for our group throughout the season and we are super grateful to have their support.

  • But what about the four people who we heard about at the beginning of this story? Well Jake and Jenna were married in the summer of 2022 and Tim and Courtney got married in the summer of 2023. They now own 6 Mini Moto's between them.  Rumor has it that the real romance is between Tim and Jake and neither will deny it. All four of them are looking to continue to improve and grow this little club for anyone who loves riding Mini Moto.

We Look Forward to Riding with Everyone in 2025!
